WELCOME OUR XFACTOR PARENTS MINISTRY LEADERS

James and Cindy Klopfenstein have volunteered to lead our parents ministry. We are very excited to have them on board. Cindy and James are very involved in serving at Vanguard and have one high school student and two in college. I encourage you to get to know James and Cindy more throughout the year and give them your ideas, hopes, feedback, and encouragement. James and Cindy can be reached at cindyklop@comcast.net, jklopfen@yahoo.com or by phone at 660.6986.

Cindy Klopfenstein & James Klopfenstein

Cindy

I was born in Chicago and graduated from Moody Bible Institute. After Moody I went to Biola to receive my BA degree in teaching. I married James just before my senior year at Biola. I enjoyed being a stay-at-home mom and home schooled three of the kids when they were in early elementary school. My most precious service to the Lord was devoting meself to my husband and my home and working hard to raise four very rambunctious kids! I now works for Focus on the Family part-time, at home, answering the 800 number. I considers myself blessed to have a job where I talk with, serve and pray with people from all over the country. I enjoys hiking and skiing with James, I love quilting, but most of all enjoy cultivating more mature relationships with my young adult children.

James

I was born and raised in So. California. I received my BS degree in engineering from Cal Poly in Pomona, CA. I met and married Cindy in 1982 and then spent a year in Portland, OR at Multnomah School of the Bible. After a year of internship, I spent three years in Aruba doing missionary radio and serving the Arubans any way I could, mostly in the local church as a youth pastor. After Aruba, I spent 7 years working with Moody Radio in Michigan before moving back to California to spend 5 great years living near my extended family. I worked as a radio studio designer and enjoyed being in the secular community and talking with unbelievers about the Lord. In 2002, God moved me and my family to Colorado where I have been working with Focus on the Family as a broadcast engineer. Cindy and I have four children, one married son, one college age son, one college age daughter, and one in high school son. I enjoy hiking in the summer and skiing in the winter and spending time with the younger crowd whenever I can!

Wednesday Night

We will now attend the mid-week worship and communion service together as high school volunteers and students. That is from 6-6:45ish. We will then have regular X-Factor at Dub Euro ("The Dub") from 7-8:30. I am excited about the kids having more involvement in the bigger church, but also getting them more connected to one another.

Sunday Services

"Gather 'Round" meets at 11:00 am, but we strongly encourage you to attend the 9:00 am service as well.
