“My name is Alan, affectionately called “Cletis” by the kids, and I have been at Vanguard for over a year now.  I oversee the ministry, have close contact with volunteers, and desire interaction with parents about their students.  My highlights in the XFactor include the New Orleans mission trip, every camping trip, seeing kids conquer fears rafting and rock climbing, playing the “bigger and better” game, and teaching from the Bible each Sunday morning.  My heart beats for small groups, and I desire to create a place where each kid can be heard, valued, and given a chance to ask God the hard questions that people often feel uncomfortable asking in church.  Isn’t that the place we SHOULD be asking them?  Fun.  Growth.  Creatively expressing God in us.  That’s what it’s all about!”
